Alan Dean

A O Dean (School years 1938-50) known as Alan to most but also Oscar passed away very recently. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Shirley his wife and their 3 sons, Rob, Andrew and Jonathan (all O Cs) and their families.

He died a few days ago after a long illness quietly borne. The funeral is private. There will be a memorial service at St Mary's Chigwell on Monday 26th January at 3.30.

A real gentleman, quiet with a great wit, and life long supporter of the School and the Club, he had been a School Governor for many years.

As a footballer he won a Blue at Emmanuel College Cambridge, the only O C I am aware of to achieve this honour. He played for the O Cs and was a keen golfer and a member of Chigwell and the OC Golfing Society
